ROCHESTER, Minn.- The United Way of Southeast Minnesota is encouraging federal employees to lean on its 2-1-1 hotline if they're having trouble paying the bills.
The service is provided nationwide with 24/7 support.
Grace Pesch, vice president of community impact says the service helps callers to get in touch with rental, housing and food assistance programs in their community and if city and county programs are unavailable it can help callers to find alternatives to meet their needs.
"When you call 2-1-1 you're connected to live person who can listen to your unique situation with you and your family and they'll recommend a few different programs and services. They'll talk about what eligibility is like and what next steps are. They'll really just hold your hand through the exploration
