PEORIA ( 25News Now ) - Peoria Police are working to learn more about a shooting that sent a woman to the hospital early Sunday morning.

According to police, just before 5 a.m. Sunday, officers were called to an unspecified local hospital, where a 34-year-old woman arrived with a gunshot wound to the chest.

That woman is in stable condition, but what is less clear is where, how, and when that shooting took place. Police have not released any details, but the investigation is ongoing.
