MADISON (WKOW) -- A man convicted in a deadly OWI crash that happened in December 2024 was ordered to spend eight years in prison.
In Dane County Court on Monday, a judge sentenced Nicholas Nesthus, 36, of Poynette to eight years in prison, followed by six years of extended supervision. During the entirety of Nesthus' sentence, he must maintain absolute sobriety and may not be at any establishment whose primary purpose is to sell or distribute alcohol. He also may not have any illegal substances in his possession without a valid prescription.
Another term of Nesthus' sentence is that he cannot drive a vehicle without a valid license and agent approval. His license is suspended for five years.
