GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - The Greenville City Council voted 5-0 to voluntarily dismiss its lawsuit against Camping World over the giant American flag at its location on Red Banks Road and Evans Street.

The action comes after HB 926 went into effect Monday without Governor Stein’s signature, which includes a provision that will prevent local governments from restricting the size of official government flags on private property.

Camping World owed more than $37,000 in fines as of last week.

However, the law says any pending fines or litigation would be dropped once it takes effect.
