When actress Elaine Hendrix takes to the stage Tuesday to take part in “Dancing with the Stars’” Disney Night performances, she will be carrying at least some of the lessons taught to her in Morristown,

Hendrix was born in Oak Ridge but was raised in Morristown where she studied dance under local instructor Gail Noe-Kilgore at the Rose Center.

The two made a further connection at West Elementary School where Noe-Kilgore was a physical education teacher.

“Elaine loved to dance with me,” Noe-Kilgore said. “She was always nice, funny and had a great personality. Everyone loved her, and she was fun to be around. We’ve known each other for years.”

Hendrix attended Lincoln Heights Middle School and attended Morristown-Hamblen High School West before moving to Atlanta to finish her education
