LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) — A lingering bed bug problem in one state office building is now impacting another larger office, according to officials.
A spokesman for the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services said two bed bugs were detected last week in the Nebraska State Office Building in Centennial Mall. It is unclear where the pests came from.
The bugs were found on the first and fifth floors. Internal emails shared with 10/11 News show the bugs were discovered Oct. 1.
Employees working in the affected areas were allowed to temporarily work from home while exterminators treated the workspaces, according to DHHS. It’s unclear if they were still being allowed to work from home as of Monday.
