BARDSTOWN, Ky. — The final man convicted in the murder of Bardstown mom Crystal Rogers wants his prison sentence overturned.
Brooks Houck, Rogers' ex-boyfriend, was sentenced to life in prison after being found guilty of murder (principle or accomplice) and tampering with physical evidence in Rogers' 2015 disappearance.
Court records show Houck's attorneys filed a notice of appeal, looking to overturn his conviction, on Monday.
Due to the lengthy sentence, his appeal is heading straight to the Kentucky Supreme Court.
Houck is still being held in the Oldham County Detention Center. He will eventually be assigned to a state prison to serve out his sentence.
The other two men convicted in Rogers' murder have also filed notices seeking an appeal.
Joseph Lawson was sentenced to 25 year
