A man died after crashing his motorcycle Monday afternoon in Manchester, according to New Hampshire State Police.

The crash happened on Interstate 293 southbound near Exit 6, police said. Troopers responded shortly before 2:30 p.m.

The motorcyclist, identified as 59-year-old Matthew Alosa of Manchester, is believed to have lost control of the bike, which went into a wooded area on the right side of the road.

Alosa was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The right lane of I-293 southbound and the on-ramp from Eddy Road were closed for about three hours after the crash.
