JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — In a briefing held Monday night, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office confirmed that the department responded just before 8:30 p.m. to a traffic crash at Normandy Blvd. and Verna Blvd. JSO said a motorcyclist was heading westbound on Normandy when a semi-tractor was heading eastbound at the same time and the two collided.

According to JSO, JFRD transported the motorcyclist to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. This marks the 130th traffic fatality and 33rd motorcycle fatality in Duval County this year.
