PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD/WYZZ) -- U-High and Washington advanced to the boys state golf finals this weekend.

The Pioneers finished second, the Panthers third at the 2A sectional at Prairie Vista Golf Course to advance along with sectional champ Quincy Notre Dame. Washington's Gavin Schreurs made a par putt on the 18th hole to give the Panthers the final state berth, one shot ahead of fourth-place Dunlap.

U-High and Tri-Valley advanced to the girls state finals. Tri-Valley won the 1A sectional at Pontiac while U-High took third at the 2A Pekin sectional.

The 1A, 2A and 3A boys state finals will be played at three courses in Bloomington-Normal this weekend. The two classes for girls will have their state tournaments in Decatur.
