Banks will remain closed today in some parts of India to mark Maharshi Valmiki Jayanti and Kumar Purnima. Banks in four regions — Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, and Shimla — are going to remain shut today-October 7.

There are a total of 21 bank holidays in October, including regular Sunday closures and the second and fourth Saturday offs, during which different regions will see bank closures.

Festive week ahead! Bank holidays between October 20 – 24

On October 20, 21, and 22, banks will remain closed on account of Kali Puja, Naraka Chaturdashi, and Diwali (Deepavali).

The following days, October 23 and 24, will also see bank holidays in several states for Bhai Dooj, Chitragupt Jayanti, and related festivals.
