2025 Edition Features Artists Using Film, Performance, and Installation to Reflect the City’s Contradictions and Creativity

The Hammer Museum at UCLA will open the seventh edition of its celebrated Made in L.A. biennial on October 5, continuing its legacy as one of the most influential showcases of contemporary art in the country.

Curated by Essence Harden and Paulina Pobocha, Made in L.A. 2025 features 28 artists from across Los Angeles County, reflecting the city’s diverse and dynamic creative landscape. The biennial highlights work from both emerging and established artists across disciplines, including painting, film, choreography, photography, sculpture, theater, sound, and video.
