(WHTM) -- It was just over 24 hours between the moment 7-year-old Aiden Ha walked away from his home and when Pennsylvania State Police found his body in the Susquehanna River.

Within that timeframe, an extensive search was launched in Columbia County to locate Ha, who was nonverbal and had autism. But one state lawmaker is arguing more eyes, more information could have saved his life.

"When such individuals go missing, every minute matters," said Rep. Robert Leadbeter (R-Columbia County) in a co-sponsorship memo to colleagues Monday. "Traditional alert systems often exclude them because they do not fit neatly into the criteria for missing alerts."
