Those who looked up in the sky last night were treated to a view of a full moon, a Harvest Moon, and a supermoon all at once.
The full moon over the region late Monday and early Tuesday is nicknamed the Harvest Moon, which is the full moon that happens closest to the autumnal equinox.
It is also the first of three supermoons this year. A supermoon occurs when the moon is closest to earth, making it appear larger and brighter than normal.
If you didn't see it, you can try again tonight when the moon begins rising around 6:45 p.m. It won't technically be full, but close enough.
