Anita tried to hide the letter, written in Assamese, inside a book

In a rather sensational development, Anita Deka Mahanta, wife of Shyamkanu Mahanta, one of the accused in the Zubeen Garg death case, tried to sneak in a letter to her husband who is in police custody since October 1.

Anita tried to hide the letter, written in Assamese, inside a book, but she got caught. She could not take the letter inside and hand it over to her husband because police found the letter hidden inside the book during routine checking which is done as is the norm whenever someone visits a person in police custody.

Anita has been visiting her husband in custody since October 2 bringing him clothes and food. Police have not allowed the food inside because as per rules, outside food is not allowed for people
