Sir Alex Ferguson has left a local football club delighted after popping in for a visit this week.
The football "legend", who was born in the city's Govan , popped by Benburb FC for a "pie and a chat" on Monday, October 6.
Sir Alex was seen beaming as he posed for a picture with members of the club, which is based on Craigton Road and is part of the West of Scotland football league.
A statement posted to the team's social media account, on X, reads: "Sir Alex popped into New Tinto this afternoon for a pie and a wee chat."
