A Staten Island teenager was expected to be charged Tuesday for allegedly stabbing and killing his stepfather in their home, NYPD officials said.
Police responded to a 911 call from another family member at the house on Cary Avenue near North Burgher Avenue in West Brighton around 4:30 p.m. Monday, according to officials. Officers found the 45-year-old man in a bathtub with multiple stab wounds to his head and neck, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Officials have not released the man’s identity, but said officers took his 19-year-old stepson into custody. They have not released his name or announced charges against him yet as detectives investigate a motive in the incident. Police said the home has a history of domestic violence calls.
