Invest 95L in the central Atlantic is becoming "better defined," and a tropical depression is expected to form later today. If so, the National Hurricane Center will begin issuing advisories Tuesday, Oct. 7.

At the 2 a.m. advisory, forecasters said a tropical storm is likely to form in the next day or so.

Where the strengthening system will go remains unclear, and AccuWeather forecasters are advising residents in the Caribbean and along the U.S. east coast to closely monitor the tropics.
