A Glasgow social care worker has been banned from care work after distributing indecent images of children.

Former carer Jack Paterson was struck off after being hauled before a panel of the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).

Paterson was convicted of possessing indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of children at Glasgow Sheriff Court in May 2024.

He was also convicted of distributing or showing indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of children over a period of more than three years between October 2018 and April 2022.

Paterson failed to report the criminal charges to his employer or to the SSSC.
