Springville police are on scene of an incident at Springville High School Tuesday morning.

The school is on lockdown but police say students are safe, there are no injuries, and the situation is under control, according to police.

St. Clair County Schools Interim Superintendent Rusty St. John issued a letter saying that there was a report of a weapon on campus. He said there is no threat to students or staff.

The Chief Wayne Walton praised the school resource officers for quick action securing the school.

This is an active investigation and more information will be released, according to Walton.
