Ihave been particularly busy this winegrape harvest season. As most of you know we are moving from the vineyard we have called home for the last 26 years.

Since I am still involved with other vineyards in Santa Barbara County, we decided to rent a house for a few years close by in Orcutt.

The search for a rental home went on at the same time we were dealing with smoke taint issues from the wildfires in some vineyards I oversee, along with the usual harvest challenges, including tropical storms from the south that brought rain, thunder and lightning over the area.

The amount of rain we received in most areas did not cause any issues with our fruit, but it did raise my blood pressure for a few days.
