CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Tropical Storm Jerry has formed in the Atlantic Ocean, and has become the 10th named storm of the 2025 hurricane season.
The said Jerry reached tropical storm status around 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 7. At that time, Jerry was approximately 2,500 miles from the North Carolina and South Carolina coasts, and about 1,000 miles from the Windward Islands.
At the time of its formation, data showed Jerry had maximum sustained winds of 45 mph, and was moving west at 24 mph.
A shared by the National Hurricane Center on Tuesday morning showed Jerry taking a northern turn well before it reached the United States coast. It is expected to stay well out to sea and will likely not bring any direct threats to the U.S.
