A Vineland man was arrested Sunday morning after police allegedly found explosives in a tent outside a Washington, D.C., cathedral he had previously been barred from, the Metropolitan Police Department said.
Louis Geri, 41, was charged with unlawful entry, threats to kidnap or injure a person, and possession of a Molotov cocktail.
Officers assigned to the Red Mass at the Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle saw Geri set up tents outside and took him into custody when he refused to leave at 6 a.m., police said in a news release. Officers found vials of liquid and possible fireworks inside the tent as Geri was being arrested.
The Red Mass at St. Matthew's is traditionally held before the beginning of the Supreme Court's new term, which started Monday.
