JASPER COUNTY, S.C. (WTOC) - There was a large police presence on Pineland Road in the Grays community in Jasper County earlier today, October 7th.

According to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office , the law enforcement presence was in response to a reported missing man.

“An elderly man was reported missing from his home around 1:00 a.m. and has since been safely located,” the JCSO says. “We appreciate everyone’s understanding and cooperation during the search.”

The JCSO, in a social media post announcing the large police presence, reminds the community about Project Lifesaver, which they call “a program that helps us quickly locate loved ones who may be prone to wandering due to conditions such as Alzheimer’s, dementia, or autism.”
