WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Police said a family member shot a teenage boy Tuesday morning in Winston-Salem.
Officers responded around 9:28 a.m. to the 100 block of Charleston Court after reports of a shooting. Investigators said the teen was shot inside an apartment, then ran across the street onto the Forsyth Technical Community College campus and called for help.
Police found the family member accused of shooting him back at the apartment.
Investigators said this appears to be an isolated incident and there’s no threat to the public.
The teen was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police are still investigating.
