PLANTSVILLE, Conn. (WTNH) — Officials with the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletics Conference (CIAC) say it appears that good sportsmanship is on the rise in Connecticut.
Examples of bad sportsmanship make the news all the time. There are fights on the field, shouting in the stands, arguments with referees and more.
Tuesday morning, more than 600 students from across the state came to the Aqua Turf Club in the Plantsville section of Southington to talk about how to show better sportsmanship.
“When we get high energy but we’re losing, we don’t have the best attitude towards that, as athletics as a whole, not just Brookfield High School,” Brooke Carpenter, a volleyball and lacrosse player at Brookfield High School, said.
