An Atlantic City man was sentenced Monday to 28 years in prison for leading a drug network with his twin brother, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said.

Joseph Suarez, 40, pleaded guilty in June to being the leader of a narcotics trafficking network and possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose.

He must serve at least half of his sentence before he is eligible for parole.

On Nov. 14, 2022, members of the Atlantic City Police Department, the Prosecutor’s Office and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration searched various locations in Atlantic County linked to a wiretap investigation dubbed "Operation Florida Keys," which focused on Joseph and Justin Suarez’s control of the drug trade on South Florida Avenue, the Prosecutor's Office said Tuesday in a news release.
