A decades-old homebuilder active in fast-growing portions of Greater Fort Worth has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy as the company navigates a dispute over a land transaction.

Fort Worth-based Village Homes LP builds between 50 and 100 homes a year in growing communities such as Walsh , west of Fort Worth, and Parks of Aledo. President Michael Dike said he filed for Chapter 11 protection Oct. 1. He said the bankruptcy stems from a failed 2024 transaction involving 100 lots in Parker County with Dallas-based Olerio Development LLC.
