COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - More cases of measles have been confirmed in South Carolina after an outbreak in the Upstate.
The South Carolina Department of Public Health said Tuesday that two more cases have been reported since last week. It now brings the total number of cases to 10 since July 9.
DPH also confirmed that eight of the 10 cases are in Spartanburg County.
“Some cases are travel-related exposures or close contacts of known cases,” the agency said in a statement. “Other cases, such as the current outbreak, have no identified source, suggesting that measles is circulating in the community and could spread further.”
