The fall sports season is getting pretty close to playoff time already and our desert athletes continue to show out.

It's that time of week again to vote for The Desert Sun Athlete of the Week.

But before we look at this week's candidates we like to look back at last week's winner. You voted and you chose Shadow Hills cross country runner Demetrius Bribiesca. Bribiesca became the fastest sophomore in Shadow Hills history and third fastest ever with a time of 15:47.6 at the Woodbridge Invitational which was a stunning 53 seconds faster than his previous best.
