Though some area residents protested the inclusion of a drive-thru, the Mobile Board of Zoning Adjustments approved plans to build a new bank at the corner of St. Louis and Joachim streets.

River Bank & Trust submitted applications for a “special exception” to build a bank with a drive-thru window and a curb cut for the board to consider during its Monday, Oct. 6, meeting. The city’s codes do not ordinarily allow drive-thrus downtown, but the board can grant permission to certain businesses.
