SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) -- A Sturgis man has died following a single-vehicle crash in Summerset on Friday.

According to the South Dakota Department of Public Safety, the 70-year-old driver was traveling west on Sturgis Road, turning right near Freedom Lane, when he struck a road sign.

The car continued into a ditch before it struck a telephone pole.

The driver was taken to a Rapid City hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died on Sunday. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
