The Dade County Sheriff's Office is now taking applications for a program that helps residents make sure their children have gifts to open each Christmas.

"Hope for the Holidays” applications can be picked up, day or night, at the Dade County Sheriff's Office on Case Avenue in Trenton.

Requirements for people who want to participate include:

Children must be between the ages of one to 15

Both the parent and child must be full time residents of Dade County

Children must be full time students in Dade County

Parent must have legal custody of their child

The application must be returned to the Dade County Sheriff's Office by Friday, November 21.
