The White House is investigating the early release of Ronald Exantus , who was convicted of killing six-year-old Logan Tipton during a home invasion in Kentucky. Exantus, 42, was released from prison last Wednesday (October 1) after serving just eight years of a 20-year sentence. His release has sparked outrage among the public and the victim's family.

Exantus was sentenced in 2018 after being found not guilty by reason of insanity for Logan's death but guilty but mentally ill for assaulting Logan's father and sisters. Despite the Kentucky Parole Board's decision to keep him in prison, state law required his release under Mandatory Reentry Supervision. Exantus will remain under supervision until June 2026.
