MURRAY, Ky. (KFVS) - A teenager from Florida was charged in connection with a “swatting” incident and bomb threats to the city of Murray.

According to Murray police, a 17-year-old from Boca Raton, Florida was identified as the caller.

The juvenile was charged with falsely reporting an incident which generates an emergency response, first-degree terroristic threatening and theft by deception under $500.

On October 4, the juvenile was extradited to Kentucky on the charges.

Police say it happened on August 30 when they responded to a report of an armed person threatening to harm himself and others.

Officers determined the report was a “swatting” incident involving a spoofed phone number and a fake call for service.
