CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — A "perfect storm" of no federal or state funding has Centre Safe, a local organization dedicated to helping domestic violence survivors, worried about the future of similar programs.

Centre County's commissioners proclaimed October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Executive Director of Centre Safe, Jennifer Pencek, was brought up to speak about the occasion. Among other topics, she spoke about how the lack of state and federal dollars is becoming challenging to navigate.

"We are in extremely high demand, while at the same time navigating the perfect storm of no state budget and no federal funding," Pencek said.
