STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (WTAJ) -- A Montgomery County man is facing charges after he allegedly hit and filmed video of a woman without consent during an encounter last fall, according to the criminal complaint.

Karston Chan, 22, is charged with misdemeanor unlawful restraint, simple assault, and invasion of privacy, after authorities allege he assaulted a woman in his dorm room in Sept. 2024.

According to a police affidavit, Penn State University Police were initially contacted back on Sept. 10, 2024, after UPMC Altoona Hospital staff alerted them to an assault victim at the hospital seeking treatment.

Officers interviewed the victim, who alleged that Chan and she first exchanged messages on a dating app before deciding to meet in person at Chan's dorm room for consensual sex. After meeting
