YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) -- Folks who love it say it's a library system that outpunches its weight.

Now, a multi-day event called Literacy for Change is all about the idea of keeping York County Libraries special. It kicked off Tuesday morning at The Hive Coffee House and Cafe.

"People love the library," said Tara Kauffman, interim chief advancement officer for York County Libraries. "They start sharing memories of when they were a kid, how they first came to the library."

There are more events tonight and tomorrow, and an online campaign to raise $500,000 for the library.
