BOISE, Idaho — Boise Police say they are attempting to contact a man who appears to be in crisis north of the Boise River and west of Americana Boulevard.

According to the department, the investigation indicates the man is believed to be armed and a potential danger to himself and others.

Crisis negotiators are on scene, and officers have secured the area. Boise Fire is also staged downriver.,

Police say there are no road closures at this time but are asking the public to avoid the area.
