LESLIE COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - Students at Leslie County High School hosted a memorial vigil Monday night to honor conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated on Sept. 10. The service, hosted at the Bobby Osborne Pavilion, was organized by the school’s newly formed Turning Point USA chapter.
The evening featured prayer, music and songs of remembrance in what student organizers described as a tribute to Kirk’s character rather than his political views.
“We feel like we want it just solely to be based on how good of a person Charlie was and how he believed the way he did and how he fought for it,” said Heidi Brock, president of the Leslie County Turning Point USA chapter.
