On Tuesday evening, Channel 5 audiences witnessed actor Matthew Lewis stepping into the shoes of Canon Daniel Clement in Murder Before Evensong.

He's accompanied by the talents of Amanda Redman, Amit Shah and Adam James in the production, which saw extensive filming across the West Midlands.

The opening instalment of the murder mystery drama, drawing inspiration from the inaugural novel in Reverend Richard Coles' Canon Clement Mysteries collection, had viewers gripped from the very first moments as a corpse was discovered.

When the programme rewound through time, audiences were then acquainted with the various residents of Champton village, each apparently concealing their own dark secrets and personal grudges.
