Tulsa Native American Day is less than a week away, with a full lineup that honors heritage and celebrates resilience.

Winnie Guess Perdue, this year's parade grand marshal, helped pave the way for female Native dancers. She joined News On 6 to speak about her time as a fancy dancer on the nationwide powwow circuit.

The Tulsa Native American Day celebration is on Oct. 13, starting at 9 a.m., at Dream Keepers Park, 1875 S. Boulder Park Drive. This year’s theme is "From Trails to Triumph."
