GREELEY, Colo. (KKTV) - A former University of Northern Colorado (UNC) women’s golf coach has been convicted of unlawful sexual contact, according to the 19th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
The DA said that in 2023, 47-year-old Benjanin Portie inappropriately touched a female student golfer during private lessons. They said the victim reported that he placed himself behind her during a drill and touched her multiple times.
According to the DA, Portie came to UNC in 2017 to be the head coach for the women’s golf team.
He reportedly resigned from the golf program in 2021 and was not employed with the university at the time of the incident.
