CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - U.S. Rep. Nancy Mace is challenging Attorney General Alan Wilson over what she claims is a troubling conviction rate in child pornography and sexual exploitation cases.

The dispute is the latest clash between the Republican rivals in the South Carolina gubernatorial race.

In a press release, Mace alleged Wilson’s office dismissed 92 percent of child pornography and child sexual exploitation cases in Dorchester County from 2019 to 2022. The attorney general’s office disputes the claims and says Mace’s data is “wrong.”
