A new program by Mayor Dorinda Borer has helped West Haven regain over $140,000 in lost tax revenue.
The lost tax revenue came as a result of many unregistered vehicles in the city, officials said.

An audit from West Haven’s motor vehicle grand list revealed that since January, 1,169 vehicles have been submitted for billing with 478 of those vehicles being unregistered.
The new vehicle registration program will have the Capital Tax Recovery of Berlin scan license plates throughout the city and determine if residents have their vehicles registered in Connecticut and have West Haven as their tax city.
