NEW CASTLE, Pa. (WKBN) -- Leaders from New Castle, Union and Shenango townships were invited on a tour of a water treatment plant on Tuesday that recently made millions of dollars worth of improvements.
Over the past two years, Pennsylvania American water has put $21 million worth of improvements into its New Castle water treatment plant.
"This plant has a great team, runs a very strong operation," said Jim Runzer, vice president of operations. "It's just great to see these improvements allowed them to just improve on that process and continue to provide great water to the customers, the New Castle system."
The plant project started back in 2022. It included adding a new electric system and generator, a UV light disinfection system, and a fifth water filter for the plant. Company leader
