Taylor Swift faces new criticism over lyrics in her latest song, “Opalite,” which listeners say target her fiancé Travis Kelce’s ex-girlfriend, Kayla Nicole.
The song, from Swift’s new album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” has drawn accusations that the pop superstar is “punching down” by directing “mean-spirited” lyrics toward Nicole, a sports journalist and podcaster, Parade reports.
The controversy centers on a line describing Kelce’s previous relationship: “You felt alone, you were in it for real, she was in her phone and you were just a pose.”
