Our Place Society opened its doors on Tuesday to serve a Thanksgiving lunch to the most vulnerable in the region ahead of the long weekend.
The annual lunch is hosted by Our Place Society, and CEO Julian Daly says it’s to ensure people get to celebrate the holiday.
“Many of the people who come here today for a Thanksgiving meal do not have an opportunity to have the more traditional Thanksgiving meal. Many folk here may be estranged from their family or disconnected from their family, or they can’t afford Thanksgiving meal because of the cost,” Daly said.
“So this is a place where folk can come and have a family-type atmosphere, meet, come here with their friends and their street family, but also come to a place where they can enjoy a really delicious meal that’s as good as any Canadian
