WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Three men have been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty in connection with a 2023 home invasion that left one person dead.

According to the Forsyth County District Attorney’s Office, Jemon Smith, Armin Hardy, and Anthony Cloverdale each pleaded guilty Monday to second-degree murder, two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, and first-degree burglary.

Prosecutors said the crimes happened on May 18, 2023, when the three broke into an apartment at 2890 Quincy Drive in Winston-Salem, looking for drugs and money. Four people were home at the time.

Armed with firearms, the suspects confronted the residents. Hardy stayed on the first floor and robbed one victim, Gaurav Mishra, for $37. Meanwhile, Smith and Cloverdale went upstairs and confronted William Colson
