ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A former Atlanta Police Department officer was sentenced Tuesday in connection with charges he was facing in a Lyft driver’s death.

Koby Minor was sentenced to 29 years in prison.

He pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter, which was a reduced charge. He also pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm, possession of a foreign substance and driving under the influence.

The charges stem from the death of 35-year-old Reginald “Reggie” Folks in May 2024.
